Tribal Thursday

"Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious, and adding the meaningful." - John Maeda

Diego Stocco - Music From A Bonsai

Inspired by the video above I wanted to post something organic this morning. Well yeah... that's not happening. I'm just not capable! But I DO think tribal house is inspired by African drums and nature so let's get tribal in our cubes. (WARNING: do not start a bonfire and dance around it.)

Dj Mujava - Township Funk (Radioclit Remix)
Mujava is somewhat of a rags to riches story. This dude is actually from Africa and came up with this catchy tune that became an international club hit. There is something incredible about this song that puts you in a trance.

Afrojack - Bangduck
Irrefutably similar to Boris Dlugosch's Bangkok, undeniably Afrojack was a pioneer in this sound but is Bangduck an homage or a major diss to Dlugosch? Anyway, no hate for either track. They're both prime.

Congorock - Babylon
Last but not least... this track is what Mujava and the Bloody Beetroots' baby would sound like. The track is a genre-bending, menacing, tribal lovechild. The music video by Pomp & Clout just perfectly fits the song too which is a plus to the already awesome track. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the original for download. You can download a DJ Manaia & Alif remix here.
