Strange Times on the Metro

The Los Angeles Metro is a strange place and this mashup fits it perfectly (because its weird, right?):

Also, a slightly more sane version: The Original

Obligatory Coachella Post (Yelle Edition)

Yep, Coachella looks just about the right amount of awesome. Conditions are perfect. There's nothing good on TV and pretty much every band you could ever want will be there (and even a few that you don't, e.g. Kings of Leon).

I was looking through the tiny print with a pretty gigantic grin and then two amazing things happened. First, I read Delorean and was like "WOah" - I love Delorean. But then I slowed down, stepped back, and saw that Yelle was playing - even better. When French Electro Pop meets the Californian Desert only amazing things can happen. Yelle is (or should be) the soundtrack to all the most amazing moments in life (trust me).

Delorean - Stay Close
Yelle - Safari Disco Club

P.S. If you want to make your life a little more interesting, read this and then go find the frenchest headshot you have.

We-no-speak-Americano Wednesday

Can't wait to go home and dance to this one full blast!

Chaos Club - Everybody speaks no Americano

This is one explosive mash-up that includes...
1. Yolanda be Cool & DCUP – We no speak Americano
2. Backstreet Boys – Everybody (Backstreet's Back)
3. Phantom of the opera – Ouvertuere
4. Bob Sinclair – Rock this Party
5. Benny Benassi – Satisfaction

Below is the MV for the to-be-classic from this year.

PS. If you haven't checked out the Black Swan trailer yet... please do. It makes my heart skip multiple beats. Again, this is ANOTHER movie coming out in December.

APOLOGIES

Been moving and haven't really had internet... I can say that I have a renewed appreciation for Simon and Garfunkel and Sade which are the artists I happened to have a lot of songs from in my iTunes.

There seem to have been a lot of cool videos out there lately. Maybe we can feature them in the near future.

Have a good day!

What's your fave outfit? She's at the Roxy tonight.

Eye of the Storm

Today's one of those hectic days... trying to figure out where to live starting in August, making calls, trying to get decent Inception tickets, etc. etc.

I took a moment to kick back and this was the tune that graced my ears. Thanks for bringing the calm Chemical Brothers and Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas.

Tangential Thursday

Sorry world for not posting in a while. Let's get to it. Have you seen the new video for Maroon 5? :)

As pop-y as Adam Levine and gang are, I will always have a soft spot for them. Maybe I was at an emotionally vulnerable spot when I was introduced to "This Love" in high school but they always seem to hit the right chords with me. Some bands just do pop well! I'm loving the whole metaphorical abuse and the billy rocker vibe in the video. Since I can't find a streamable mp3 file for this track I will have to give you another...

So, on the topic of hot girls... here's a video for Esquire that features the hot Daisy Lowe in a Victorian or Rococoan or Baroquean, oh who cares, room just dancing in front of a camera.

There are different outfits, some shedding of clothes, and some reading involved. I'm not even sure if the dancing is that good, which proves the age-old theory that hot people can do anything and look good. Oh yea, and the tune's awesome.

So for those of you who are curious, Maximum Balloon is the TV on the Radio's producer/guitarist/keyboardist David Sitek's new side project. I've been pretty meh about Chromeo's forthcoming material so this tune fills a little hole in my heart. It's perfectly funky, soulful, and experimental.

Since Daisy used to be Mark Ronson's babe, I'll put in the new, fresh Ronson track here too. (No! Not Sam!) Shout out, Q-Tip where you been? :D

This track is so 99 luftballons meets 2010 but I know there's something that it sounds even more like... I just can't put my finger on it and it bothers me. Oh well...
